Dyer and Scott Opticians Clifton Bristol Portishead

Dyer and Scott Ltd was originally started by Ronald Dyer back in 1958 and the two sites in Clifton and Portishead were covered by him on a part time basis.

His son Nick Dyer (dispensing optician) joined the business in 1981 and Rob Scott (optometrist) 5 years later. Nick and Rob found they had a very similar outlook towards optometry and dispensing. They have grown the business on the basis of offering thorough eye examination and genuine unbiased advice on spectacle and lens design with a choice of simple to complex lenses at competative prices.

Both Clifton and Portishead are now open 6 days a week and we now have Ellen Morris (optometrist), with us for 17 years, and James Bradley (dispensing optician), helping us achieve our aims.

James has been in optics for many years previously in Bath and he has a wealth of experience both from a glazing background and dispensing product. This gives him a great understanding of what the finished spectacles will look like and enables him to offer expert advise on what lenses suit what frame depending on the prescription.

Our busy reception is kept in order by Penny and Clare at Clifton and by Julie, Lesley, Rachel and Nicola at Portishead.
